Until 2009, Key Stage 3 (KS3) pupils were required to undertake National Curriculum tests in the 3 core subjects: English, Maths and Science. These provided records of attainment in the individual subjects. English assessments also included the study of a Shakespeare play.
In April, 2009, the National Union of Teachers (NUT) voted to ballot members on boycotting KS3 SATs tests for the following year.
KS3 SATs papers have been replaced with formal teacher assessments in each of the National Curriculum subjects: English, maths, science, history, geography, modern foreign languages, design and technology, ICT, art and design, music, physical education, citizenship and religious education.
Whilst children are no longer formally assessed at KS3 with National Curriculum tests, the KS3 SATs past papers taken by pupils in the years up to 2009 remain highly relevant to their teacher assessments and overall school performance. Below you will find all available KS3 past papers, completely free SATs past papers to download and practice with.
